Halloween Costumes For A Bargain

Halloween is just around the corner.

If you want top picks, you’ll have to go shopping early otherwise you end up with the “rejected” or “loser” outfits.

Sometimes it is good to wait until the last minute.  Last year, I managed to find Baby H’s Halloween costume for $11 at Children’s Place a week before Halloween.

This year’s costumes are already out, but I am noticing that they’re very expensive.  Budgets can vary, but I feel $35 on a one-time costume is a bit much.  Tired of hearing about this, my Husband recently decided to volunteer and get our Baby’s costume himself. He found an adorable “Tigger” costume at Belly Laughs for $8 – a total bargain! So here’s my October shopping tip for you: check out second hand stores like Belly Laughs or Upper Canada Kids before spending a lot of money on these costumes. This is also a wallet-saver with families that have more than one tot to take trick-or-treating.

That’s a great idea! My almost 4 year old is all excited about Halloween and change to his “new” superhero costume every day when he comes home from daycare. I paid 3.25$ at our local second hand store :)

Thanks. That is adorable that he wants to wear it everyday. That is a great price! It is amazing what you can find in some of these second hand stores.

  3. Great advice! I too think spending over $30 on a Halloween costume is too pricey… they kids barely wear the costumes… and they’re usually covered up by jackets, anyway!

I completely forgot about that. Great point!
