Restaurant Review – Mr. B’s March House Restaurant
My husband and I made a resolution this year to have more date nights.
My Husband has a rotating schedule, which makes it difficult to plan and spend a lot of quality time together. We had started to become very dull with our “date nights”. They used to consist of nights spent before TV or with one of us attached to a laptop. I knew this wasn’t really a date night and it wasn’t something I had wanted to continue doing with my dear Husband. So we both decided that at least once a month, we will have a “real” date night. We defined it as a night that may involve dinners, movies, a shared bottle of wine, but most importantly a night when we can have an adult conversation that isn’t interrupted by “mama” or “dada”.
We have kept our promise so far. A few nights ago, my husband arranged for Baby H to stay with his grandparents and surprised me with dinner at a “secret location”. This secret place was Mr. B’s March House Restaurant, a cute little Italian restaurant that is simply perfect for a romantic dinner. They have a good size menu with a variety of offerings at a good price. We started the evening off with some wine, zucchini sticks (my one weakness) and calamari. I honestly think they had the best zucchini sticks I have ever eaten, and I’m a picky foodie. Our mains were as traditional as the restaurant and date-night; we had chicken parmigiana and vegetable and chicken pasta in delicious red sauce. The food was really very good.
We share a life together, a child, a house and a future. Once in a while it’s important to remember and live in the moments that make our life together so great. And if there are zucchini sticks and wine around, then I really have nothing to complain about. Date night is a success and I look forward to the many dates we’ll be having.
A quick note on Mr. B’s: The place is busy and doesn’t always accommodate walk-ins, so do make reservations ahead of time to enjoy what they have to offer.

My husband and I are long over due for date night – we even missed Valentine’s Day because he had to go on a business trip. I am hoping we will at least get out of the house in April for our wedding anniversary! Your post was a great reminder to make this happen, and that restaurant sounds perfect for a romantic date :)
I hope you and your Husband get out for your anniversary. If you haven’t been to Mr. B’s before it is definitely perfect for an anniversary.
