ShopHaven Loves: Haute Chocolate Nail Polish
I’m loving chocolate right now, and not the regular type of chocolate. Sally Hansen – the nail product lady that took over pharmacy shelves – has come out with an outstanding line of nail polish called “The Complete Salon Manicure”. It combines a base coat, growth treatment, strengthener, colour and top coat all rolled into a one magic bottle.
The Complete Salon Manicure line has 42 colours to choose from, with my current favourite being “Haute Chocolate”. It’s a rich
brown that looks like you took your fingers out of a pot of delicious melted chocolate. The bottle comes with a thick bristled brush, which makes one-stroke nail painting an easy thing- especially if you’re impatient and hurried like me.
I’m really happy with the “durablility” of the polish. I’ve been wearing it all week without a single crack or chip around the edge of my finger nails. That says a lot. My fingers go through a lot, never mind being weak to start with, my finger nails get absolutely abused between hot showers, dish washing and the occasional attacks of unidentified flying objects launched by my soon anytime I go to put his hat on.
With two coats on, the shine is great and the colour is very saturated. Allow your finger nails some time to dry so you can make the most out of your manicure and avoid bottle-emptying re-applications.
A bottle of Hansen’s “Complete Salon Manicure” retails at $6.00, and can be found on sale occasionally.
Happy pampering everyone!

I tested this product. I had a light color & it went on streaky, which I loathe! Personally I am not a fan of base & top coat nail type products because a base coat & top are meant to do totally different things & should be formulated differently. A base coat should be sticky & tacky, to help the color adhere ~ you don’t want sticky as the top coat, obviously. And a top should be super super shiny (which your base coat need not be) & durable which again a base coat need not be as something is going over it. So my theory is that the product won’t work as well as it could with all this different things going on in one bottle. A shampoo/cond product is the same ~ nonsense. A shampoo is meant to clean the scalp while conditioner is meant to be used on hairs ends to coat and smooth them. These things don’t go together. I’m glad you had a ggod experience with the SH polish. The colors you show are very pretty! I know different products work well for different people!
@ laura ~ Amen sister! Jack-of-all-trades products are time wasters!
i’m personally fond of the 4 step process. base/colour/top/drying agent. the last product makes all the difference b/ween a 3 day manicure and a 10 day one.
